Heusden
I went to the Dutch medieval town of Heusden a while back. It is a town built on an island, surrounded by protective earth walls.
First off, the entrance to the village from the land side:
Presumably a guard station in medieval times, this booth now serves as a bus stop.
A row of houses near the canal with very little reminding of modern times. (could someone move those cars?)
